This classic red is the result of painstaking research into exposure, chemical and physical characteristics of Campania region unique volcanic terroir and topography. Radici Taurasi is one of the most superb expressions of Ercolano terroir. Classic red vinification, long maceration with the grape skins at a controlled temperature. Refines for 30 months in French oak barriques and Slovenian oak barrels. At least 36 months in the bottles before release.

Hand-picked grapes using traditional methods during early November. Fermentation happens at a controlled temperature ranging between 22º/25ºC, the wine then is left to ripen in small American oak barrels for about 4 months, with further refinement in barrique and then in bottles. The intense ruby colour is a prelude to the unexpected intensity of scents: bush berries, small red fruits, vague fragrance of leather. DOCG* Certification: This classification denotes the highest quality recognition for Italian wines. In addition to the conditions required for DOC, the wines must be "guaranteed" by passing an analysis and a tasting by government-licensed personnel before being bottled. Also, DOCG rules reduce the allowable yield of grapes to produce the wine, limit specific alcohol levels, and minimum aging requirements.

The raw power given by the Aglianico grape is blend with the less known Piedirosso, that brings smoothness to the blend and balances the acidity and tannins of the Aglianico grape. The result is a perfectly balanced wine that doesn\'t lack in character and that is aged in French Oak to add structure and texture.

A muscular, uncompromising wine with plenty of fruit and spices. Aglianico is a grape not typical of the Abruzzo region, but in Fontefico it takes on its own unique features: balsamic notes with hints of rosemary and lavender, spiced with essences of tobacco, carob and cloves.
