A very popular fresh and sweet cheese from central Italian. DOP (PDO)* certified.

Made with a blend of sheep’s milk and cow's milk, it is a soft, compact yellow cheese with some occasional holes. We suggest you to serve it with on slice of bread with a glass of good white wine.

It is said that even the great Michelangelo was an admirer of this famous Caciotta, to the extent that he rented out various fields in the city of Urbania in order to ensure him a constant supply.

*DOP (PDO) is short for Denominazione di Origine Protetta (literally 'Protected Designation of Origin'). This certification ensures that products are locally grown and packaged, using the traditional method. Caciotta d'Urbino was awarded with the denomination of protected origin status in 1982.
