Semi-matured cheese made from cow's milk, with an intense flavour, excellent when grilled or fried, but equally good in fresh salads or as part of a cheese board. Originally from the province of Cosenza, in the region of Calabria, Caciocavallo Silano DOP (PDO)* is now produced in many areas of South Italy. The associated producers of Caciocavallo Silano know the meaning of the quality DOP (PDO) label and rigorously take care of all aspects of production in full compliance with the specifications.

*DOP (PDO) is short for Denominazione di Origine Protetta (literally 'Protected Designation of Origin'). This certification ensures that products are locally grown and packaged, using traditional method.
